第22回日本看護医療学会学術集会を開催させていただくにあたり，ご挨拶を申し上げます．本学術集会は，2020年9月19日（土曜日）に神戸で開催させていただくことにいたしました．
最先端看護学は1日にして成らず！看護学の進歩・発展は，一朝一夕には叶いません．医療がますます高度化・複雑化する中で，看護学に携わるすべての者はこの動向に応え，未来の看護学をいかに創造するかを問い，それを実現させる地道な努力を続けなければなりません．そこで，今回のメインテーマは，“最先端看護学とそのゆくえ”といたしました．
日本の科学研究には，独創性が乏しいという批判があります．最先端看護学は，独創的な研究から生まれますので，世界に冠たる研究を牽引する研究者を養成することが必要です．そこで，今回の学術集会では，一般演題において“優秀発表賞”の表彰を行います．また，グローバル化の時代を生き抜くために，公式言語は日本語のみならず，英語も可能とさせていただきました．さらに，研究レベルを長期的に向上させるためには，若手研究者が独創的な研究を生み出すしくみが重要です．そこで，学部や大学院の学生が参加しやすいように工夫いたしました．
どの会場においても，最先端看護学の神髄が論じ合われるエキサイティングな学術集会を夢見ています．皆様のご来神を心よりお待ちしております．

It gives me great pleasure to announce the convening of the 22nd Annual Meeting of Japan Society of Nursing and Health Care, to be held in Kobe on September 19, 2020.
Leading-edge Nursing Science will not be built in a day! Nursing studies can spare no effort in working to advance development. As medical care becomes increasingly advanced and complex, all of us who are involved in nursing science must respond to trends; ask how nursing science of the future can be created; and consider what we can do in terms of applying steady efforts to ensure its realization. These are underscored in the main theme of the conference, which will be, “Leading-edge Nursing Science and Its Future Implications.”
Scientific research in Japan has been criticized for being weak in originality. Because Leading-edge Nursing Science stems from original research, it will be necessary for us to nurture world-class researchers who are leaders of their respective fields. To this end, at this conference we plan to award “Excellent Achievement” award(s) to the top presentation(s). What’s more, for us to remain relevant in this era of globalization, we have made it possible to utilize not only Japanese, but also English as the official conference languages. I would add that with the mind of adopting a long-term approach to the elevating of levels of research, it will be of great importance to elicit original research by young individuals, and to this end, we have taken steps to facilitate attendance by students at undergraduate faculties and at graduate schools.
Whatever the venue, I foresee an exciting conference at which we will join together to consider the essence of Leading-edge Nursing Science. I am looking forward with great anticipation to seeing you there.
